How it all started…

Grappler’s Heart was the first tournament designed for grapplers overcoming disabilities. Competitors range from those entering or returning to physical competition for the first time to those already competing in able-bodied tournaments.

We believe that grappling provides an outlet for athletes to demonstrate not only what their bodies can accomplish, but also what true inspiration lies within their hearts.

We are excited to announce our fifth tournament to be hosted by Vitor Shaolin’s BJJ in New York City on Saturday, June 22, 2019! West coast to East coast, we look forward to seeing you all there in the spirit of competition!

This groundbreaking event is not for profit, and all services rendered are from the spirit of the grappling hearts of this community that believe in this cause!

The first tournament was held at Renzo Gracie’s Fight Academy in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York on Saturday, April 25, 2015 with seminars by Matt Marcinek, Keith Miner, and Nick Newell to round out the weekend! Our second tournament was held on April 30, 2016 in Tustin, California at BTT with special guest, Kyle Maynard! The 3rd edition was back in New York City at Vitor Shaolin's BJJ Aacdemy on April 23, 2017, and the 4th was hosted by Longo and Weidman MMA in Long Island, NY in April 2018.
